Your race time must be faster than the existing record, or
Your time is exactly the same, but you meet all of the following tie-breakers:
You used a lower car level
If car levels are equal, you achieved the time with fewer attempts
If attempts are equal, the more recent race wins
You cannot break your own record with a tie.
Even if you match your best time, submitting it again does not count as a new record β because it would likely have more attempts, breaking the second tie-breaker rule. In this case, the new run would actually be considered a downgrade.
The only exception is the Personal Record (PR), which is your best time across all editions of a tournament. You can break your own PR from a previous edition if your new time was achieved with fewer attempts.
However, you can break another player's record in a tie, as long as your tie-breakers are better.
PB (Personal Best): Your fastest time on this track
NR (National Record): Best time ever by a player from your country
WR (World Record): Best time ever by any player worldwide
PT (Personal Time): Your best time in the current tournament edition
PR (Personal Record): Your best time across all editions of a tournament
TB (Tournament Best): Best time by any player in the current edition
TR (Tournament Record): All-time best time by any player in any edition of the current tournament
